2013 Direct Applications
As of Thursday, 18 October, a steady flow of direct applications have been received. Offers to students for 2013 are now being made.
Stats for this week are:
- 1688 direct applications received
- 288 offers made including conditional offers
Please Note: New students are now able to enrol online for 2013.
Discontinuation of Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood) for 2013
Please note that this course will no longer be offered for entry. It was previously available on both the Strathfield and Canberra campuses. Students who were on deferment from this course and have requested to commence their studies in 2013, will be contacted to advise that the Faculty of Education has approved them to commence the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary) course. In addition, anyone who is currently on deferment from this course will be advised this course has been discontinued and they will be eligible to commence in the four year Bachelor course when they decide to take up their deferred place.
2012/2013 Early Achievers’ Program
Emails were sent this week to EAP applicants who had un-submitted applications. A copy of the email was sent to Student Centres.
It has become apparent a large number of EAP applicants commence more than one application, as the majority of enquiries received have been from applicants who had already successfully submitted an EAP application. Admissions and Student Centres have been checking to ensure their application has been submitted correctly and then advising them to disregard the email.
However, there have been some applicants who contacted us to thank us for reminding them to complete their application before the closing date this Sunday, 21 October.
Course Disciplines and applying through Student Connect
When applying for some postgraduate Education courses, it appears that despite choosing a particular discipline in the Proposed Course of Study screen, the system defaults back for displaying ‘Religious Education’ regardless of which discipline has been chosen.
A job has been logged with Systems to investigate this issue. However, in the meantime please advise anyone who contacts the Student Centres to proceed as normal with completing and submitting their application, as the Admissions Assessor looking after these applications confirms that all the details are coming through Banner correctly despite the default discipline displaying on their application.
This issue seems to be occurring for postgraduate applicants who select any of the following disciplines from the drop down list, when seeking to locate the course they wish to apply for:
- Educational Leadership
- Educational Studies
CD forms are being processed this week and students are being sent new offer emails advising them they can enrol for 2013. Anyone who is not eligible to return from deferment who has submitted a CD form is also being advised accordingly and provided with other options for future study such as re-applying.
