Leading and Managing in the ACU Context

This one-day conference is for Professional and Academic leaders in senior positions and participation is by invitation. During the event, executive leaders explore pertinent topics facing the University.  The 2016 conference was held at North Sydney and Brisbane venues in August and explored the theme of ‘Communicating with Purpose’.  Topics included Communicating with Impact on Engagement and Performance, Leading for Mission, Vision and Values, and the Practice of Shared Leadership. It also included an executive panel with the Vice-Chancellor and President, as well as Deputy Vice-Chancellors and Associate Vice-Chancellors.

Masters of Tertiary Education Management Scholarship (Office of the Vice-Chancellor and President)

The Master of Tertiary Education Management (MTEM) is a two-year, part time program for current leaders and senior managers in tertiary education which is offered through the LH Martin Institute. The Vice-Chancellor supports an annual MTEM scholarship opportunity which offers participants expert perspectives on tertiary education systems, practical skills for leading and managing successfully in universities and colleges, access to the best and latest research and resources on the sector. It also provides exposure to a network of national and international peers facing similar challenges.

The program is purposefully designed for tertiary employed leaders. At ACU, the scholarship is aimed primarily at Professional and Academic senior managers - Level 9 and Level E or above; including the Executive Planning Group (EPG) members and professional staff in a substantive position including Associate Deans and State Heads of School. Staff must be full-time or part-time continuing or fixed term staff and must have worked at the University for the equivalent or greater than two years duration.

Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Catholic Culture

Applications invited in the last quarter of the year
The ACU Directorate of Identity and Mission sponsors scholarships to undertake the Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Catholic Culture.  The Graduate Certificate explores what true leadership means in a Catholic context and encourages participants to develop a deeper understanding of Catholic identity, ethos and mission and its integration in modern organisations.  The scholarships are available for continuing full-time or fixed-term staff members of ACU who have been employed by the University for a period greater than two years in duration, and who aspire to be in a leadership position at the University.
