At ACU, the Induction Program is a significant first step in becoming acquainted with the University and in particular, your campus, helping you to settle into your new role. Induction is crucial to your employment and provides you with information on how to perform your job effectively, enjoyably and safely. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about your workplace and where to go to for information.
As part of your Induction at ACU, you are required to take part in all components within the first six months of employment at ACU. Each is an important part of the ACU Induction Program and can be completed at different times throughout the Induction period.
Your 1 on 1 with your Nominated Supervisor is an opportunity to discuss your new role, your key responsibilities and any other matters relating to your employment with ACU that you or your supervisor want to discuss.
Your 1 on 1 is designed to cover anything you might need to know so if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
E-Induction is an online induction training program that allows you to work at your own pace throughout the induction process. It guides you to specific areas to assist you in settling into your role at ACU.
You will receive an email in your first few weeks with your E-Induction login details.
U @ ACU
U@ACU is a face-to-face workshop designed to give you more in-depth information about the University. It allows you to meet other new staff members, as well as learn from guest speakers and presenters who come in to talk about different aspects of the University and/or their roles.
This one-day workshop covers the University’s Organisational Structure, History and Strategic Direction, Catholic Identity & Mission, Community Engagement, Code of Conduct, working at ACU and your local campus Work Health & Safety (WHS)/Equal Employment Opportunity information.
E-Essentials is a range of online modules,covering topics that you need to know in order to be legally compliant. The modules will depend on the type of role you have, but include:
Eliminate Workplace Bullying
Discrimination & Harassment
WHS Management (nominated supervisors only)
Working with Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults
Competition and Consumer Act (identified roles only)
