Community-engaged research

Community-engaged research at ACU refers to community-led research that works for the common good. It involves community in decisions about what should be researched, and the design of that research. As such, ACU invites communities to shape ACU's research agenda. Community-engaged research adopts research methodologies that prioritise collaboration with communities in ways that centre community voice and community participation throughout the research lifecycle. ACU's community-engaged research seeks to explore critical social justice issues identified by communities and achieve positive social, cultural, economic and political outcomes. ACU's community-engaged research also interrogates issues of Catholic identity with Catholic partners who are committed to advancing their Catholic mission and ethos.
