Professor Doug Clarke is the Flagship Director, based at the Melbourne Campus. Research interests include mathematics learning in the early years, assessment alternatives, problem solving, and teacher professional development.

Anne Roche manages the Flagship Office at the Melbourne Campus, coordinating the research assistant team. She can be contacted on (03) 9953 3277. Research interests include fraction and decimal learning and teacher knowledge.

Professor Philip Clarkson is based at the Melbourne Campus, with research interests including the overlap between language learning and mathematics learning, values in the classroom, and the impact of globalisation.

Associate Professor Paul White is based at the Strathfield Campus in Sydney. His research interests include teaching for abstraction, multiplicative reasoning, angles, and teachers’ perceptions of problem solving.

Dr Janelle Young is based at the Brisbane Campus, Banyo in Brisbane. Research interests centre on children’s literacy development in the primary years and in particular, the early years, family-school partnerships and attracting and retaining staff in rural and remote settings.

Dr Maureen Walsh is based at the Strathfield Campus in Sydney. Her research interests include the reading development of second language learners, the impact of multimodal texts, and visual literacy.
