The University’s investment policy outlines strategies to ensure efficient management of cash and maximum return on invested funds, while minimising risk.
2. Cashflow Management
The University’s cashflows and funds investment are managed by the University Investment Manager. Projected cash inflows and outflows are carefully monitored to maintain a minimum balance in the University’s bank account, ensuring sufficient cash is available to meet its on-going financial obligations. Any funds not required for immediate use are invested to earn additional income for the University.
3. Investment Strategies
Funds are invested in risk averse bank bills and term deposits from highly rated financial institutions.
The University has access to the funds at any time should an unexpected shortfall arise.
4. Investment Reporting
A periodic report on both the composition and performance of the investment portfolio is provided to the University Audit Committee.
