Doctor of Philosophy
The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is awarded for high-level research and a contribution to knowledge in your chosen field, which may be any covered by the university. A PhD is carried out under the supervision of an academic who is an expert in the field, and is assessed on the basis of a 70,000-word thesis.

The University reviews fees annually. | The Tuition fees quoted above are for commencing students in the current year who undertake a normal full-time load. Fees are reviewed annually. Tuition fees for continuing students may increase by up to 3 percent each year for the minimum duration of the course as provided on your electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE). Students who continue to study beyond the minimum duration will have the relevant annual commencing rate applied to their fees for subsequent study periods. |

Description
The degree of Doctor of Philosophy is available in all Faculties of the University and is awarded without classification on the basis of examination of a major thesis. The requirements for the degree shall be completed by submission of a thesis which demonstrates that the candidate has made a substantial contribution to learning and appreciates and understands the relationship of the candidate's own investigations to a wider field of knowledge.English Language Requirements
