English Pathways for University

Many ACU English Language students plan to continue studies at ACU with a Bachelor or Masters Degree.

We recommend that you study for 12 weeks to improve your English skills by 0.5 IELTS bands.  This means, if your current IELTS score is 5.0 and your Bachelor Degree requires 6.0, then you will need to study English for 24 weeks to reach it.  What IELTS level does my course need?

There are a number of ways to prove that your English level meets the requirements for university studies at ACU:

1. IELTS Test

This test can be taken by students seeking entry into any ACU course.  Visit IELTS for more information.

2. TOEFL test

This test can be taken by students seeking entry into any ACU course.  Visit ETS TOEFL for more information. The University's Destination code for those undertaking TOEFL test is 9623.

3. English for Academic Purposes: Direct Entry

This program is available for students seeking entry to ACU courses with an IELTS requirement up to 7.0.  It is not accepted for entry into physiotherapy courses. Visit English Language Courses for more information.

4. ACU English Test

This test can be taken by students seeking entry to ACU courses with an IELTS requirement up to 7.0.  It is not accepted for entry into teacher education courses.  Visit ACU English Test for more information.
