July school is open to both new international students and existing ACU students. 

International students

If you’re coming from overseas you’re eligible to study with us if you have:

  1. Successfully completed one full year of study at university level, and
  2. Successfully completed one full year of study where the study medium was English, or
  3. You can provide evidence of the following English language test scores:
  • IELTS: 6.0; 6.0 for Writing and Speaking; 5.5 for Reading and Listening;
  • TOEFL IBT: 79; 22 for Writing;
  • TOEFL PBT: 550; 59 for Writing;
  • TOEFL CBT: 213; 25 for Writing;
  • ACU English Language Test: C.

Current students

If you currently study with us you are eligible to apply for July School once you have completed at least one semester of study. You must also meet the prerequisites for your chosen July School subjects. Discuss the degree requirements with your Course Coordinator.

International applications

1. Ask your university 

We’re looking forward to having you study with us, but first you need to ask permission from your home university before you apply for July School. They will be able to tell you if you will receive credit for your study with us and whether you will be attending as an Exchange or Study Abroad student.

2. Choose your course

Explore the July School courses on offer and select the one you wish to study. Courses are only available at selected campuses.

3. Apply

You can take part in July School as a standalone experience or as part of a longer Exchange or the Study Abroad program. To apply, please complete the Study Abroad/Exchange application form and return by email to international.julyschool@acu.edu.au. Please ensure you complete all ACU July School sections. If you have any questions regarding your application email the July School Coordinator.

4. Letter of offer and acceptance

The ACU July School will assess your application and if successful you will receive an offer letter. You will need to accept this offer to secure your place and accommodation (if required).

5. Get your visa

Most students will require a Visitor Visa to enter Australia for July School, You can apply for a visa online or from the nearest Australian High Commission, Consulate, Embassy or Diplomatic post. Once your student visa has been approved you can complete your travel arrangements.

6. Get ready to go

You will be provided with ACU July School pre-departure information which will include accommodation, airport reception and orientation details.

7. Arrive in Australia

You are expected to arrive in Australia the Friday before your study starts. Once you’ve arrived there will be an orientation session for you to take part in so you can get to know your campus and your fellow students. You’ll also be given a student ID.

1. Confirm your eligibility

Talk to your Course Coordinator before you apply for July School. They will confirm your eligibility and confirm the appropriateness of your chosen course.

2. Apply

The ACU July School programs are currently suspended. We'll update our course information when programs can resume.

Fees

International students

You may be required to pay fees directly to us, instead of your home university. We will confirm this with you in your Letter of Offer. Tuition fees cover the cost of academic study at ACU. They do  not include  the cost  of textbooks, transport and other program costs.

Existing students

If you are currently studying with us and are enrolling in July School as an approved component of your degree, you will pay tuition as per your degree requirements. If your unit is not approved as part of your degree you will need to enrol on a fee-paying basis. If you are an existing international student you will pay the same tuition fee for these courses as you do for units during the semester.
