History

The Campus at Fitzroy was established in 2000 after the two Melbourne campuses (Mercy and Christ) amalgamated. The Campus neighbourhood has important associations with the earliest years of Catholic life and education in Melbourne. The site is adjacent to historic Central Hall, formerly Cathedral Hall, which has stood at 20 Brunswick Street, near the Victoria Parade corner, since 1904.

Location

The campus is conveniently located on the fringe of the Melbourne Central Business District (CBD). It is within a short walk of the popular retail strips of Brunswick Street and Smith Street with their variety of cafes, shops and art galleries. Transport

You can reach us by bus, train, tram or car.

  • Travelling by bus - The National Bus Company offers ten services which travel from Melbourne�s eastern suburbs and stop directly outside the university.
  • Travelling by train - Connex and V-Line both offer services to the city via the city loop. Students should disembark at Parliament Station and walk or catch a tram to the campus.
  • Travelling by tram - Yarra Trams offers five services which stop 500 metres from the university every five to ten minutes.
  • Travelling by car - Car parking is available at the Kings Car Park at the rear of the main campus building and discounted rates apply to students and staff.
