History

The Brisbane Campus (McAuley at Banyo) commenced in 2003, replacing the former Brisbane Campus at Mitchelton. The 40-hectare site was formerly the Pius XII Provincial Seminary, with a history extending back to 1863.

Location

The campus is 12 kilometres north of the Brisbane Central Business District (CBD), and is close to the Brisbane International Airport. Please click to view a map of Brisbane and its surrounds.

Transport

You can reach us by bus, train or car. Free parking is available on campus.

  • Travelling by train - Queensland Rail offers a service from Central Station to Banyo Station, which is the nearest railway station to the campus and is on the Shorncliffe line. The campus is about 15 minutes' walk from the station. Alternatively, students can alight at the Toombul or Northgate train stations and take the free ACU shuttle bus service to the campus.
  • Travelling by bus - Brisbane City Council Bus Service offers a service from the CBD to ACU National. Buses run at hourly intervals on weekdays, and the trip takes about an hour.
  • Travelling by car - The campus is about 15 minutes from the CBD in normal traffic or 25 minutes during peak hour.

Atmosphere

The campus is set on 40-hectares of beautiful countryside. The facilities allow students to socialise, use the recreation amenities and study in a peaceful campus setting. It is a relaxed environment with a small campus feel.
