Nancy Badr credits her Bachelor of Social Work degree for the opportunities that have come her way and for providing her with the scope to branch out in the community services and multicultural sector.
As Youth Services Team Leader for the South Eastern Region Migrant Resource Centre, Nancy practises as a youth worker and has gone on to higher levels managing a youth team.
Working with young people from refugee backgrounds, Nancy has been awarded the Police and Multicultural Advisory Committee (PACMAC) Multicultural Community Exemplary Award (2004) and recently convened the unpacking the suitcase conference, maintaining the well being of newly arrived young people.
For Nancy, ACU National offered the course she wanted to study and the Melbourne Campus was close to home, which was an added bonus.
"Lecturers, tutors and other staff provided a learning experience that was interactive, supportive, friendly and flexible," she says.
