Give Today

Australian Catholic University is a community centred on the education and formation of people in the service of the common good. It holds that human life is sacred and that as a community the University is obliged to embrace others and to work towards human flourishing for all people. To genuinely embrace the other, to accept responsibility for other persons requires a concern for justice and the dignity of persons and demands ethical behaviour in all interpersonal encounters.

This commitment to human dignity, justice and the common good is reflected in ACU's community engagement programs. These include:

If you have a passion for social justice and serving the common good, we welcome your support of our programs.

Management of Donations

Donations to the University are managed by ACU Development. Donations may be annually funded, a lump sum to be drawn down over time, or a capital sum to be maintained with only the interest generated to be available. These monies are invested within the University's overall investment portfolio.

Broadly speaking, the University's long-term investment strategy is a low-risk one that aims to

  • protect value
  • generate returns in line with market trends or slightly higher, and
  • provide opportunities for some capital growth.

The University's investment portfolio and related strategy is monitored and reported on at each meeting of its Audit Committee, a sub-committee of Senate, the University's governing body. (Members of the Audit Committee must also be Senators.)

External advice is sought from time to time in relation to investment strategy. Any change to the current conservative approach to investment would require the formal approval of Audit Committee.
