Research Priorities

Support world standard research breakthroughs

  • If you choose to support research priorities you are helping us make new discoveries

ACU has already made its mark in research.  In the 2011 report under the Excellence in Research Australia (ERA) initiative of the Federal Government, ACU achieved world standard ranking in four key discipline areas.

ACU achieved a rating of 4, a result above world standard in theology research and religious studies. ACU also achieved world standard results with a rating of 3 in the disciplines of curriculum and pedagogy, nursing and law.

A University can not exist without research and to benefit from research findings we rely on your commitment to support them. ACU has a strong research culture and it will only continue to make breakthroughs with your support.

By giving to research priorities you are helping us make new discoveries. The following diverse projects demonstrate how quality research can readily make a difference in our communities.

Three-Minute Thesis Competition (3MT)

The Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) is an international competition that began in 2010 at the University of Queensland. It is an exercise in developing academic and research communication skills. Masters by Research and Doctoral students have three minutes to give an engaging and dynamic talk on their thesis topic and its significance in language appropriate to an intelligent but non-specialist audience. Sebastian Krook from the Faculty of Business presented on the ethics of mystery shopping and was the inaugural winner of the ACU 3MT Competition.
