Centre of Physical Activity Across the Lifespan (CoPAAL)

The Centre of Physical Activity Across the Lifespan (CoPAAL) was launched in July 2004. CoPAAL is a research initiative within ACU National’s Schools of Exercise Science in New South Wales and Victoria. It assists and promotes excellence in research through maximizing research support and opportunities for staff and postgraduate students in projects related to physical activity across the lifespan.

More specifically, CoPAAL targets physical and psychosocial health improvements in minority or disadvantaged populations through pathways including physical activity. CoPAAL’s productivity for the past four (4) years of operations, is defined by research grants, projects, publications, and partnerships. CoPAAL takes pride in projects and research that aims to make a difference to the community.

The Centre is administered by Director, Associate Professor Geraldine Naughton.

National Centre for Clinical Outcomes Research (Nursing and Midwifery, Australia) (NaCCOR)

NaCCOR, the National Centre for Clinical Outcomes Research focus’ on Faculty research and scholarly activities and is designed as a “virtual network” embedded in the Schools of Nursing and Midwifery.

Collectively, NaCCOR promotes development of research teams both within and across school and faculty boundaries and link strongly with various state and national health services. The centre liaises with active researchers in each state and identifies key stakeholders for a number of projects.

NaCCOR is about health care innovation and improvement, across areas of knowledge generation and utilisation, specifically in health services research and evaluation in the practice contexts of preventative, acute, rehabilitation, mental health and aged care nursing.

The research conducted by NaCCOR aims to, improve general health care and contribute to public debate and influence policy. The following staff hold, key positions within the Centre:
