“Being an EAPP scholarship recipient since 2019 has been such a blessing to me. As an elite athlete, I have constant costs to fund training, competing and medical expenses, and it's been a huge reassurance to have the EAPP scholarship supporting my pathway to becoming an Olympian. This scholarship not only allows me to pursue excellence in my sport, but it also enables me to plan for a future after sport as I study to become an exercise scientist.

Am I eligible for the EAPP?

If you compete at a state, national or international level in a Sport Australia or UniSport Australia endorsed sport you might be eligible to join the Elite Athlete and Performer Program. As an elite athlete you may have been identified by one of the following organisations:

  • the Australian Institute of Sport
  • a State institute or academy of sport
  • a relevant national or state sporting association, of which you are a member eg Cricket Australia, Diving Queensland, Victorian Football League (VFL).

You’re considered an elite performer if you are a member of, and have had significant success in, a major artistic performing arts or production company at a state, national or international level.

More specifically the criteria can include:

  • Actors Equity Australia
  • Australia dance council
  • Australian dance theatre
  • Australian chamber orchestra
  • The symphony Australia company
  • Opera Australia/ state opera
  • Musica viva

Applications for 2024 are currently open. To be considered for adjustment factors please completed your application (including TAC ID) by 21 November 2023. If you are applying to study at ACU and think you are eligible for EAPP adjustment factors, firstly you need to apply for your ACU course via your local tertiary admissions centre (TAC). Next, gather your EAPP application support documentation and then complete the online application form.

You will need to complete the online application form and provide evidence of your current elite sporting or performing status by supplying the following support documentation:

  • a sporting/performing resume summarising your achievements and experiences over 12 – 18 months.
  • a supporting reference letter from your relevant sporting or performing institution or association that verifies your level of elite involvement over the past 12 months and your ongoing commitments ie NSW/Australian Athletics
  • current training and expected competition schedule for the upcoming year (if possible)
  • high-resolution competition or performance photo (action shot preferred).

Once you have your documents ready, apply here.

As a current student, you can apply for the EAPP at any time throughout the year. This includes both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
While applications will remain open, some EAPP benefits may vary depending on the timing of application during the semester. i.e if applicants apply after the timetabling period, we cannot guarantee timetable preferencing.

EAPP members are required to re-apply to the program every 12 months, and we encourage all current students to get their applications in by 27 October to ensure timetabling preference for 2024.

Current student who are not yet members can apply here

Current EAPP members who wish to reapply for 2024 can do so via ACU Life
