Do you want to be a competent, ethical clinician, a creative and critical thinker, an independent lifelong learner and a professional nurse?
ACU National’s Bachelor of Nursing aims to prepare students as professional nurses who can work in a variety of health-care organisations and community settings. The course includes studies related to the art and science of nursing, development of clinical skills and understanding of health and illness.
Career pathways
Nursing graduates are in demand all over Australia and throughout the world in public and private health-care organisations as well as community service areas. Graduates may employ their skills and knowledge in government and/or private hospitals, rural and remote retrieval services, management, education and research and health promotion.
ACU National graduates are able to enter different fields of health care including a wide variety of specialisation such as intensive care, aged care, paediatrics, maternal and infant care, medical/surgical nursing, mental health and many more.

Professional recognition
• Graduates will be able to practise at beginning levels of performance in the four domains of nursing identified in the Australian Nursing Council Inc. (ANCI) competencies: professional and ethical practice; critical thinking and analysis; management of care; and enabling.
• The course will prepare graduates for entry into the nursing profession. Graduates are eligible to register as professional nurses with the relevant state Nurses Registration Board.
ACU National also offers courses in midwifery.
