Paramedicine

The demands placed on paramedics, providing pre-hospital care provision has increased dramatically in recent years. This course can provide you with the knowledge and frameworks to inform the scope of practice of paramedics.  Yet, you can also become a registered nurse able to practise in a wide range of health-care settings.

This course aims to develop a proactive and adaptable graduate, who at a beginning level, will be a competent, ethical clinician, a creative and critical thinker, an independent lifelong learner and a professional nurse/paramedic.

Career pathways

This dual degree enables male and female graduates to consider a career in accident and emergency, clinical supervision, medical dispatch, the primary care arena as well as training and education.

With considerable further study qualified paramedics can go on to become intensive-care paramedics (ICPs), team leaders, or special operations team (SOT) rescue paramedics.

Varied working hours with the flexibility of shift work means graduates can choose to work part time, allowing them to fulfil other commitments.

ACU National also offers nursing and midwifery courses.
