Daniel Lowrey and Paul Turk are Bachelor of Exercise Science graduates with a love of sport and a penchant for staying in touch with cutting edge research in exercise science.
“Completing my degree and getting promoted to assistant rehabilitation and fitness coach at Kangaroos Football Club and watching them play in a preliminary final in 2007 are major career highlights,” says Daniel.
“Watching a player play football after spending time in rehabilitation knowing I have helped him get through it is very rewarding.
“During subjects such as musculoskeletal rehabilitation, functional anatomy and biomechanics the lecturers were so helpful that you got so much more out of the subjects that just the course material.”
Paul credits the Bachelor of Exercise Science at ACU National for its outstanding facilities and lecturers who he says: “have all been very supportive and understanding of me in my full-time role with the Kangaroos.
“Staying in touch with the latest research and studies helps me stay on top of the latest trends,” says Paul who aspires to win future premierships with the Kangaroos.
Paul has also worked as a strength and conditioning coach at the 1996 Olympic Games and as coach of the Victorian wheelchair powerlifting team.
“The most satisfying aspect of my job is team success, making finals and bringing out the best in athletes and footballers and helping them to improve and achieve.”
