Description
The Bachelor of Exercise and Health Science course aims to produce graduates with a strong academic base in the discipline of exercise and health science, including knowledge and skills in the areas of personal development, health, physical education, outdoor recreation and sport, and with the capacity to apply knowledge and skills in an ethical, fair and respectful manner. The course is designed to enable graduates to pursue a teaching career in Personal Development, Health and Physical Education or employment in Outdoor Recreation or Sport. Depending upon the subjects chosen and the state in which they wish to gain registration (Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria), students will be eligible to teach a combination of Personal Development, Health and Physical Education as well as a second teaching method in Health, Outdoor Recreation or another discipline such as Mathematics or English. Graduates will be eligible for membership with the Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER).
Elite Athletes
The University will consider admitting a limited number of students who have been competing in sport at a high level and whose achievements have involved a high level of training demand which has impacted upon their study program. Consideration is designed to assist those who have the potential to successfully combine sporting ambitions with the pursuit of academic qualifications. Please note that previous studies and academic performance are still considered. Applicants in this category should complete an Elite Athlete Applicant form which is available from the Forms website or from the Student Centre.

Industry and Professional Activities
Industry Experience is included in the Bachelor of Exercise and Health Science. Students will undertake three units of compulsory Industry Experience across each of the three years of the course, one each year.
