About accounting

Learn to communicate through numbers. An essential part of all economic activity, accounting is the method of evaluating and reporting the financial health of businesses and individuals. You’ll learn to analyse, research and make informed recommendations about a broad range of accounting problems and issues. You’ll also become proficient in internationally-recognised principles, practices and techniques and apply them to a variety of situations, and you’ll prepare for a rewarding career as a chartered accountant, tax professional, business advisor or manager.

Accounting graduates at bachelors and masters level may be eligible for membership with a range of professional accounting bodies, including CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and the Institute of Public Accountants.

If you have completed an undergraduate degree in any discipline and want to advance to a career in accounting, you can gain accounting qualifications through our fully accredited Master of Professional Accounting.
