Arts and Humanities
Our arts courses provide you with opportunities to explore, understand and appreciate the humanities, arts and social sciences that enrich our culture, as well to develop skills and knowledge relevant to the workplace.
The Bachelor of Arts course is a flexible program designed to produce knowledgeable, articulate, and innovative graduates. Students choose and pursue their own interests. An awareness and appreciation of diverse societies, cultures, values and cultural sensitivities are important elements. Understandings of current issues are developed, as well as skills relevant to rapidly changing work environments such as the application of ethical principles to decision making.
Graduates are valued because of their capacity to think systematically and critically, to gather and evaluate evidence from many sources and to communicate clearly.
Career pathways
Employers welcome the breadth of the perspectives and generalist skills offered by arts graduates and career pathways are available in a wide range of organisations. Literate, flexible and well-informed individuals are sought by many employers. For example, you may pursue a career in government, administration, the arts, commerce, industry, art and music therapy, libraries, art institutions, museums, public relations, education, media, retail, publishing and communications.
A postgraduate qualification in education will equip graduates for a teaching career.
