Domestic Students

Eligibility

An applicant must also comply with the Admission Rules.

Apply directly to Australian Catholic University.

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites:

  1. Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or equivalent; or
  2. appropriate VET Certificate III or IV;

Applicants may also be required to attend for interview.

Description

This suite of courses provides an integrated program of knowledge, theories, skills development, personal development, and practical professional experience. It provides opportunities for Indigenous students to practice their skills, and test their understanding of disciplinary material. It also offers them an opportunity to display their problem-solving and leadership skills, and investigate ethical issues taking into account Indigenous cultures, histories, lifestyles and contexts.


Career Paths

Variety of positions as business professionals, office administrators, and clerical assistants in public and private sectors, Indigenous and non-Indigenous companies and organisations.


Professional Experience

Students in the Associate Degree are required to undertake one compulsory professional experience unit which involves professional placement within a business organisation (in the relevant discipline area) over a period of 140 hours.


Pathways to Further Study

Graduates of the Associate Degree in Business Administration (Indigenous Studies), (ADBA (IS)) can articulate into the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) by applying directly through ACU. Eligible students may receive credit towards the BBA for units they have successfully completed as part of the Associate Degree. Graduates of the ADBA (IS) may also articulate into the Bachelor of Commerce (direct entry not available) to study majors in accounting, commercial law*, financial services*, human resource management, international business, management, marketing, supply chain management, occupational health, safety and environment or information systems* (*not all options are available in Brisbane).
