Description
The course was developed in collaboration with Catholic Health Australia and is designed to assist member agencies to meet their need to provide professional staff with comprehensive competencies in Catholic culture and leadership, specifically in the context of the Catholic health and aged care sector. The aim is to assist Catholic health and aged care agencies to develop aspiring leaders in the sector and to assist them in the inculcation of Catholic values in their professional competencies and service. The areas of study include contemporary health and aged care leadership and management as presented through the value system of the Catholic tradition.
The course will enable staff to develop further their capacities as ethical professionals and as leaders of diverse workforces who are cognisant of the particular delivery of Catholic health and aged care. The course develops the capacity for reflective practice and promotes adult learning by valuing the prior learning and experience of the participants, by providing opportunities for collaborative and relevant learning and by seeking to engage students in reflective learning activities.
