Doctor of Psychology (Educational and Developmental)

Eligibility

An student must also comply with the Admission Rules.

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites:

  1.  
    1. (i) completion of 80 cp of the Master of Psychology, with a GPA of 6 and no result lower than Credit;
    2. (ii) a Research Supervisor’s report which indicates the capacity of the applicant to undertake the Doctorate; and
    3. (iii) for short-listed candidates, interview with the selection committee;

      or

  2.  
    1. (i) completion of the Master of Psychology within the past ten years, with a GPA of 6 and no result lower than credit;
    2. (ii) capacity for research as demonstrated by the grade obtained for the Master’s thesis, examiners’ reports on same, or publication record since obtaining the Master of Psychology;
    3. (iii) if the Master’s degree was completed more than two years prior to making application, completion of professional development suitable for attracting relevant APS College professional development points; and
    4. (iv) for short-listed candidates, interview with the selection committee;

Referee reports may be called for from academic and/or personal/professional referees.

  • Academic IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 6.0 for all tests);
  • Completion of the Master of Psychology with a GPA of 6 and no result lower than Credit; and
  • Interview and referee reports.

Entry is on a competitive basis. All applicants are ranked in October the year prior to admission before being considered for an offer in early December.
