To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites:

Entry Point 1 (120cp – Three semesters) – (Brisbane and Melbourne only)

1. Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent¹; and
2. eligibility for nurse registration in the state where the course is to be undertaken.

Entry Point 2 (80cp – Two semesters) – (Ballarat, Brisbane and Melbourne)

1. Practising midwives with a Bachelor degree or equivalent²; and
2. eligibility for midwifery registration in the state where the course is to be undertaken.

Entry Point 3 (40cp – One semester) – (Ballarat, Brisbane and Melbourne)

1. Graduate Diploma in Midwifery or equivalent³; and
2. eligibility for midwifery registration in the state where the course is to be undertaken.

All applicants are required to submit Form M - Postgraduate Midwifery Additional Information with supporting documentation.

¹An applicant who holds a Diploma or Certificate in Nursing may apply for special admission.
²An applicant who lacks the formal prerequisite but who is licensed to practise midwifery within the state where the course is to be undertaken may apply for special admission.
³An applicant who lacks the formal prerequisite but who has equivalent midwifery qualifications and experience may apply for special admission.
