About rehabilitation

Lend a helping hand to older adults and people with neurological conditions while elevating your career. Designed for health sector professionals – either currently working or looking to return to work in rehabilitation – our rehabilitation courses provide evidence-based advanced studies in the fields of aged and neurological rehabilitation. You’ll gain vital knowledge and skills, prepare for future leadership roles and professional recognition, or get ready for a smooth transition back into the workforce.

Open to all health professionals

We offer rehabilitation streams for clinicians working across many areas of the health sector. As well as preparing your practice for the future growth of ageing populations, you’ll learn to accommodate the complexity of aged clients – including those ageing with a disability following an acquired brain injury.

Make your career comeback

Hit the ground running after time away from work. We offer rehabilitation courses suitable for experienced clinicians who may have had a period of leave – such as maternity leave – and are looking to upgrade their knowledge, skills and experience with aged or neurologically affected clients.

Pick your path

Choose the level of rehabilitation study that’s right for you, from the Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation to the Master of Rehabilitation. You can also exit early from a program with a lower-level qualification if you’ve completed the right coursework.

Designed for your specialty

Develop the capabilities to optimize the treatment/management of your patients. In addition to a generic stream for health professionals, specialisations are available for occupational therapists, physiotherapists – in the areas of gerontology and neurology -  and speech pathologists who are currently working as clinicians in their fields.

Meet our students and staff

Student profile Rehabilitation graduate Jessica Dennis

Jessica Dennis

Master of Rehabilitation (Neurological Physiotherapy)

“As a postgraduate student, I’ve really enjoyed getting back into that learning frame of mind again. My course has a small number of students so we’ve been able to connect really well with each other and with our lecturers and tutors. The course has clearly been extremely well thought-out and we are regularly consulted about what we want as students and our feedback is listened to and acted upon.

“I've always been more of a clinician than a researcher, so I hope to implement what I have learned at uni into my work and I want to be able to impart my learnings to other staff. Ideally, I'd like to be able to change management and current practice via knowledge translation in order to provide a better service to my patients.”
