The Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Leadership is for educators (including teachers and administrators) who want to become creative, energetic and innovative leaders with influence in education.

Participants explore theories of educational leadership, management and administration (ELMA), and learn to apply them appropriately to their own contexts including  Catholic and faith-based educational  organisations defined as those organisations affiliated with a religious group or established Church (Buckingham, 2010).

All costs are calculated using current rates and are based on a full-time study load of 40 credit points (normally 4 units) per semester.

A student’s annual fee may vary in accordance with:

  • the number of units studied per semester;
  • the choice of major or specialisation; and
  • elective units.

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites:

  1. Bachelor degree in Education; or
  2. Bachelor degree in an area other than Education and a recognised teaching qualification; or
  3. Bachelor degree in an area other than Education and a Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies or equivalent.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Leadership is for teachers and administrators who want to enhance their professional practice and become leaders in their school community or organisation.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Leadership is the next step towards becoming an educational leader.

IELTS  overall score of 7.0.Individual score of 6.0 in all tests.

It will be possible for students who complete the Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Leadership to later apply for the Master of Educational Leadership and seek credit for the units already completed.

Students with a Student Visa will need to complete the program in minimum duration, study at least one subject on-campus each semester and must not undertake more than 25% of the program online.

Important Note on Fees

The Tuition fees quoted above are for commencing students in the current year who undertake a normal full-time load. The Unit Fee is based on a 10cp unit. Fees are reviewed annually.

Tuition fees for continuing students may increase by up to 3 percent each year for the minimum duration of the course as provided on your electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE). Students who continue to study beyond the minimum duration will have the relevant annual commencing rate applied to their fees for subsequent study periods.

Applicants must have an IELTS overall score of 7.0, with an individual score of 6.0 in all tests, plus the equivalent of an Australian Bachelor Degree in Education, or first degree in an area other than Education plus a Graduate Diploma in Education.
