Graduates of the Certificate in Exercise Science will be awarded the Certificate III in Fitness, enabling them to apply for registration qualifying them to work in the fitness industry. Graduates of the Certificate in Exercise Science will also be eligible for credit in two units from the Bachelor of Exercise and Health Science or the Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science at Australian Catholic University. Students will complete the following two units from the Bachelor course:
This unit will offer students an understanding of the fundamental principles of exercise science and its application to health, fitness and sports performance. Students will become proficient in the skills of conducting an exercise test and exercise instruction.
This introductory unit aims to provide students with an understanding of the study of sport psychology within a framework that examines the relationship between physical activity and psychological wellbeing within the context of the broader community. This subject will explore the theory related to the psychological aspects of sports behaviour, and the links between sport behaviour, physical and mental health and quality of life.
