Course: Facilitation

Course objectives
To enable participants to provide effective, thoughtful facilitation to either their team members or other staff, and give valuable facilitative support to employees as appropriate.

Target audience
All employees who work in a team.

Course duration
2 days.

Outcomes for course participants
On completion of the training participants will be able to:
* Understand the role and importance of facilitation skills
* Recognise the elements of effective facilitation
* Provide effective facilitation skills which can be adapted for teams, meetings, conflict resolution, inside or outside the workplace
* Set clear, timely, challenging, achievable tasks to those groups they are facilitating
* Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills including active listening, summarising, explaining and questioning

* The role, importance and techniques of effective facilitation
* Elements of summarising, questioning, explaining and listening as a facilitator
* Managing "difficult people" as a facilitator
* Coaching, mentoring and facilitation in relation to feedback
* Self appraisal and action plan
