Course Description

The aim of the Diploma in Social Science course is to provide an opportunity for students from diverse backgrounds to study a selection of units of interest to them in a program which may enable them to progress to degree studies. In 2009, the course is offered on a fee-paying basis to on-shore international students.

This course is designed for students interested in a broadly-based program that integrates the study of behavioural science, sociology and Australian society with a choice of other subjects and the development of communication skills.

The course assists students to prepare for a diversity of careers in the human services in government and public and community-based agencies.

Opportunities for further study

An international student who successfully completes eight units from the Schedule of Unit Offerings in the Course Rules may either leave with a Diploma qualification or continue their studies with a place in the Bachelor of Social Science..

A student who successfully completes four or more units in the Diploma in Social Science may exit with a Non-award Certificate in Social Science.
