Minimum duration: 3 years full time or equivalent part-time.

Apply to relevant state Tertiary Admissions Centre.

- Prerequisites: Units 3 and 4 - a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or 25 in any other English; and and a study score of at least 25 in Mathematics (any).

Course Description
This course prepares students for a variety of occupations in the field of business information systems including technical, user and customer support. Emphasis is placed on the role of computer technologies in contemporary organisations. The study of business information systems goes beyond computer hardware and software. It involves understanding the decision-making structures within an organisation and building business information systems to support the needs of decision makers. Students learn the technical skills together with the human and business skills needed to apply and manage these skills in an organisation.
One compulsory unit of Professional Industry Experience is also incorporated in the degree. The Professional Industry Experience gained over the three years is designed to assist students to link their studies to the 'real world' of work, and to assist in gaining career employment on graduation.
Professional Recognition
The course has provisional professional level accreditation with the Australian Computer Society in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
