Course Description
The Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Business Information Systems dual degree aims to provide both technical skills in technology-based information systems and skills development in a specific business major. It provides a general focus on managerial decision-making, business and personal leadership, the ethics of values-based management, and relevant work experience. It is designed for students who wish to combine the benefits of technical skills that are now much sought after in the business information systems industry with majors in accounting, financial services, human resource management or marketing.
In keeping with the Mission of the University, several units within the degree focus on business ethics and personal values of the individual in a workplace setting. One compulsory unit of Professional Industry Experience is also incorporated in the degree. This unit is not an academic unit and does not involve regular classes or academic study fees. The Professional Industry Experience gained over the three years is designed to assist students to link their studies to the 'real world' of work, and to assist in gaining career employment on graduation.
