Course Description
This course prepares students for entry-level employment and future managerial positions. It develops understanding of, and proficiency in, the principles of business required in a variety of commercial, industrial and service organisations including agencies across all levels of government, and a variety of non-profit bodies. Major areas of study include accounting, financial services, human resource management, information systems and marketing.
The Bachelor of Business has a common first year undertaken by all students which introduces the various major fields of study. Students select their majors from second year. In keeping with the Mission of the University, several units within the degree focus on business ethics and personal values of the individual in a workplace setting. One compulsory unit of Professional Industry Experience is also incorporated in the degree. The Professional Industry Experience gained over the three years is designed to assist students to link their studies to the 'real world' of work, and to assist in gaining career employment on graduation.
