Special Admission

Applicants whose educational qualifications do not satisfy the requirements for admission, but who have a sound and sufficient basis for application based on previous studies or experience, may be granted admission.

Candidates without the necessary academic background in the area of study in which they intend to research may be required to undertake specific units of study as a pre-requisite for admission.

Course Description

The Master’s program by research is completed by a research thesis on an approved topic under the guidance of a staff supervisor. Two compulsory units – methodology and literature review must also be completed. For some students, relevant courses taught at the University (or more rarely at other institutions) may be prescribed after consideration of a candidate’s background studies and research experience. The Master of Education (Research) program provides opportunities for suitably qualified people to undertake advanced studies in education leading, for suitable candidates, into a doctoral program.

Fees

Australian and New Zealand citizens and permanent residents undertaking the course are provided with an Australian Catholic University Research Tuition Assistance Scholarship, which is equivalent to a full-fee paying place. Some students may be eligible for RTS places

International students undertaking the course pay full international tuition fees.
