  1. Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or equivalent; or appropriate VET Certificate III or IV; and
  2. access to a workplace relevant to field of study.

Course Description

The Associate Degree in Social Science (Residential Care) course is designed for people working as residential carers in boarding schools, hostels and university colleges. The course provides a core for on-going professional development, helping students to understand the nature and lifestyle of adolescents and young adults, together with responsibilities and duty of care to young people in their charge.

Career Opportunities

Employment opportunities as residential carers exist in boarding schools, hostels and university colleges. Graduates of these courses, who have experience as facilitators/carers, are favourably considered for supervisory/mid-management positions within the industry.
