Our range of student clubs and societies are one of the best ways to make the most of uni life. Here’s why:
1. Kick-start your career
There’s a range of clubs and societies that will give you an edge in the career-market – such as debating and Golden Key. And taking part in activities that enhance your employable skills will give your resume an edge when it’s time to apply for jobs.
2. Make friends
Joining clubs and societies is probably one of the easiest ways to make new friends. You can pretty much skip the awkward phase and instantly bond over mutual interests. Perfect!
3. Explore an interest
Life’s all about doing what you love. From hobby groups, to sports teams, to charitable/spiritual/political/cultural groups, there’s likely to be a club or society that interests you. And if you don’t see the club you were hoping you join, you can start your own.
4. Get leadership experience
You can develop your leadership skills by joining ACUNSA, ACU’s National Student Association. There are a range of roles in the student association that will give you great experience for your future career, and some of them are even paid. In fact, Malcolm Turnbull, Tony Abbott and Julia Gillard were all student leaders in their day.
5. Start your own club
Seen what’s on offer but your particular interest isn’t there? Well, start your own club or society. You just need to submit an application and have at least ten members to get it off the ground. Find out more.
