The first rule of student club? You do not talk about student club.
Kidding! Talk about it all you want, in fact, the more the better. This isn’t like those secret sororities you see on American movies where you need to steal a team mascot to get in. Clubs and societies at ACU are here to give you a great student experience. Here’s how:
Kick-start your career
If you turn up to costume parties dressed in a power suit, then you’re going to love this. There’s a range of clubs and societies that will give you an edge in the career-market. Taking part in activities that enhance your skills will give your resume that little extra spice when it’s time to apply for jobs.
Joining clubs and societies is probably one of the easiest ways to make new friends. You can pretty much skip the awkward phase and instantly bond over mutual interests. Win!
Explore an interest
Life’s all about doing what you love. From hobby groups to sports teams to charitable/spiritual/political/cultural groups, there’s likely to be a club or society that floats your boat. And heck, if you don’t see what you want, you can start your own!
Be the next Frank Underwood
Well, don’t – Frank’s not a nice guy. But you can get your political party on by joining ACUNSA, ACU’s National Student Association. It’s all about giving students the best university experience and offering support. Fun fact: Malcolm Turnbull, Tony Abbott and Julia Gillard were all student leaders in their day!
Start your own party
Scoped out what’s on offer but you’re particular interest isn’t there? Well, start your own club or society! You just need to submit an application and have at least five members to get it off the ground. Find out more.
