University 101: Starting the semester on the front foot
You have made it successfully through week one. You did it! But we are guessing that some of you might need a little help to get back into the swing of a uni routine. We want to make sure you’re starting off on the right foot so we’ve collected a couple of items that you should have handy to make starting back that little bit easier.
This is extremely handy, especially if it fits in your hand. Use a diary (either hard copy or on your phone) to lock in all your assessments, work, breaks and social activities. It might just surprise you how nice it feels to be organised and know what’s coming up. Go on, give it a go.
Sometimes, your phone screen just won’t cut it. In these cases, use your laptop to take notes. It can also be a great distraction between lectures, as it’s great storage for all your fave TV shows.
By now, your lecturer would have recommended some of the readings that you should be completing this semester. Guaranteed this means you’re going to need to have some textbooks handy. Whether you decide to go out and purchase the latest edition from the campus bookshop, buy a second hand copy or head to the library to take notes, it’s an important item to have close by.
Getting to and from campus is going to be tricky if you don’t have your transport card on hand – unless you’re driving every day, of course. Don’t forget to make sure you look into your eligibility for the concession travel cards in your state.
ACU tote bag
Other than looking totes cool (who doesn’t love a tote bag?), it’s always handy to have a backup bag, or something to carry those textbooks and laptop in! You can even buy them online. What are you waiting for?
