We answer your questions about ACU Open Days.
What is Open Day?
It’s everything you need, in one place, to help make your decision about where to study. It’s about what you want to see, the questions you want answered and experiencing the campus. It’s your chance to speak with staff and students, learn more about courses, discover the campus and its facilities and have some fun too, with plenty of activities happening during the day.
When and where is it held?
To plan Open Day and to discover more about courses, student life, accommodation and international study opportunities, visit openday.acu.edu.au.
What should I do at Open Day?
Our biggest piece of advice: don’t be afraid to ask questions. Academics, course experts, support staff and admissions experts will all be on-hand ready to help. You can ask about courses, applying, pathways, scholarships, studying overseas, accommodation, financial support … really anything you’ve ever wanted to know about uni. It’s also a great chance to do a campus tour, and meet real students and lecturers. You can use our Open Day planner to personalise the perfect day for you. It’s the best way to make sure you see everything you want to see at Open Day.
I’m considering postgraduate study, is it worth me attending?
Yes. Open Day is the perfect opportunity to tour the campus and talk with academics. Whether you want to study on campus or online, our postgraduate experts will be available to give you advice, answer your questions, and discuss your study and career goals.
What time should I arrive?
That’s up to you. You can come along whenever you like between the Open Day start and finish times, but it’s a good idea to plan your day in advance and leave plenty of time to get to all the things you want to see. There are a lot of different sessions, and some of them are a one-off so check the program for the campus you are visiting. Planning ahead is the best way to make sure you don’t miss your top picks.
Who should I bring?
Think people you trust and who you would like involved in your education. Parents, grandparents, partners, friends – everyone is welcome.
Do I need to register?
No. Registering is not essential, although there are benefits for doing so. For example, you’ll get access to exclusive Open Day updates and competitions. There’s also no need to register for any of the events on the day, but spaces may be limited, so we suggest you arrive on time.
Can I come to Open Day if I’m in year 9, 10 or 11?
You sure can. It’s never too early to start thinking about your future, and you’re welcome to come along with your friends and family to chat about your goals and get advice to plan ahead for your final years of school.
I can't make it to Open Day. What do I do?
Don’t stress – we understand. ACU offers personalised tours of our campuses during business hours. Campus tours – like Open Day – give you the opportunity to come and check out our facilities and student life, meet with academic staff to discuss your future study options and ask any questions about the courses you are interested in. You can also meet some of our current students and get an insight into what university is really like. Until you can get here, check out our virtual tours.
