Why should I study at ACU?

At ACU you will graduate with more than a degree. We can help you discover your inspiration, find your purpose, and succeed.

Here are 10 things you’ll love about Australian Catholic University:

1. Meaningful education, not mass production

Our students don’t leave with just a degree. You’ll learn to see the world from a new perspective, be inspired to make an impact, and gain the knowledge to make a real difference.

2. A perfect fit

ACU has grown rapidly over the last few years, but you’ll find us more supportive than ever. Our campuses and classes are the perfect size, and you won’t get lost in a crowd. Your lecturers will know your name, and you’ll make great friends and strong networks.

3. We’ve got your back

Whether it’s figuring out how to enrol or finding the best coffee on campus, we’ll help you out in person, online, by phone, or even SMS. And if you need support with your studies, or counselling services, we’ve got that covered too.

4. Financial support

We know that balancing the cost of living and study can be tough. That’s why we offer nearly 400 scholarships which recognise academic achievement, community participation, and help out students from a range of backgrounds.

5. Choose your own adventure

Want to study health sciences in Italy? Global studies in Mexico? Theology in Israel? Study abroad programs count towards your degree, and with more than 200 partner institutions, you can go nearly anywhere in the world.

6. There’s more than one path to ACU

There’s no right or wrong way to get into university, so if you don’t get the mark you need, don’t panic. ACU has flexible entry schemes and pathway programs. We give bonus points in certain circumstances, and help elite athletes and performers manage study and training.

7. Roll up your sleeves

We know that the best way to get ahead is hands on, practical experience. That’s why our campuses have world-class facilities like nursing simulation labs, fully-functioning ambulances, art galleries and moot courts. All our courses offer work placements or internships with leading companies, or volunteering opportunities.

8. Think big

ACU’s Core Curriculum gives you time to reflect on a life well lived. What responsibility do we have to make decisions, take action, engage with others, and become leaders in creating a more just world?

9. Relax, or don’t, in your downtime

We’ve worked hard to create campus spaces that are relaxed, inviting, and fun. And with clubs and societies for everything from photography, to French, to skiing – we’re bound to have a group that’s right for you.

10. Be in demand

ACU courses are highly regarded in the workplace, and it shows. The employment rate of ACU’s bachelor degree graduates is consistently higher than the national average.*
