Building on Open Day success

ACU counts down to North Sydney and Strathfield open days.

People interested in studying at ACU in 2016 are encouraged to discover a world of opportunities, interactive activities and fabulous prizes at the University’s open days at North Sydney on Saturday 5 September and Strathfield on Saturday 12 September.

Open Day gives prospective students, their family and friends the chance to find out what experiences ACU has to offer.

ACU staff and current students will be on hand to answer questions and conduct tours of the campus, with information about early entry, overseas study options, undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and alternative entry.

A free comedy show with the crew from NOVA radio, and Indigenous dancers are part of an assortment of entertainment and activities. Visitors can play the interactive Facebook game ACU Racer, compete for fantastic prizes, get their blood pressure and temperature checked at the Nursing and Paramedicine demonstration clinics, and investigate studying in Italy at our newly opened Rome Campus.

Students who register their interest are eligible for $10,000 prize-money to be used for one of our international study experiences.

Current ACU students are conducting 20-minute “Day in the Life of a Student” guided campus tours, with an insider’s perspective on the Campus and their own experiences of starting university.

The new student accommodation will be open from 10am - 4pm on both Saturday 5 September and Saturday 12 September. There will also be shuttle buses from Strathfield train station to the Barker St Campus on 12 September.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Craven said Open Days were not only about learning about what courses are available but also showing off the best of ACU.

“Our Open Day gives visitors and their families the opportunity to gain a better understanding ACU,” he said.

“ACU offers students a friendly, supportive environment for students preparing for careers in schools, hospitals, businesses and a range of other workplaces,” Professor Craven said.

“We have seen our best attendance at our Open Days around the country this year and are looking forward to seeing the same success in Sydney.”

More than 11,000 people visited the Melbourne Campus on Sunday 9 August – almost 50 per cent more than last year – and almost 2,000 came to the Brisbane Campus on Saturday 25 July – up 33 per cent on last year. Both the Canberra and Ballarat Campuses also saw a strong number of visitors on the weekend of 29-30 August.

Register to attend to go into the draw to win $10,000 ACU international experience by going to Register Your Interest.
