21 October 2009: Physiotherapy facilities at Australian Catholic Universitys (ACU) Brisbane Campus will be boosted by a Federal Government funding injection of more than $2 million over two years.
The University launched the Bachelor of Physiotherapy in September to meet a growing need for workers in the healthcare industry.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Craven said he was delighted with the $2.1 million funding boost, which will go towards the construction of additional physiotherapy teaching facilities.
This is a major grant that will significantly increase our capacity to deliver the highest standard of teaching and produce graduates who excel in applying the principles of physiotherapy, are ethical in their practice and independent learners, he said.
Available from 2010, the Bachelor of Physiotherapy will be offered by the Universitys Faculty of Health Sciences.
