Beyond Borders
Beyond Borders is one of three core themes of the Institute for Advancing Community Engagement (IACE) Beyond Today agenda. Beyond Borders focuses ACU National’s community engagement on reaching out beyond our national borders to those in communities who are most in need. A specific Beyond Borders focus is education and health.
One major focus for ACU National, through the Institute for Advancing Community Engagement (IACE), is the international collaboration with the Instituto Católico para Formação de Professores (ICFP), Baucau, East Timor to develop quality tertiary educational and institutional capacities.
There are many projects underway in East Timor. One of note is the Health Services Clinic in Baucau. This provides health services to the staff and students at ICFP in the town of Baucau. The clinic will become an important cornerstone in the rebuilding of educational and health services in Baucau.
