Timeframes and penalties associated with withdrawal from course
If withdrawal from your course also involves withdrawal of unit/s, the following timelines and penalties apply:
- Up to Census Date – No academic or financial liability. Will not appear on Academic Transcript.
- Up to 30 days after Census Date of a standard study period. WW – Withdrawn Without Academic Penalty recorded on Academic Transcript. Financial liability remains.
- Up to 14 days after Census Date of a non-standard study period. WW – Withdrawn Without Academic Penalty recorded on Academic Transcript. Financial liability remains.
- More than 30 days after Census Date and up to the end of the standard study period. WN- Withdrawn Fail recorded on Academic Transcript. Financial liability remains.
- More than 14 days after Census Date and up to the end of the non-standard study period. WN- Withdrawn Fail recorded on Transcript. Financial liability remains.
- In special circumstances the Course Coordinator may approve WW- Withdrawn Without Academic Penalty prior to the end of the study period and before the commencement of the central examination period. If you have special circumstances you can apply for withdrawal from the unit/s without academic penalty. In this instance you must contact your Course Co-ordinator. If this application is upheld, you may also be eligible to apply to have your fees refunded.
