Olympian, Paralympian, mentor and 2017 ACU Young Alumni of the Year Bachelor of Exercise Science
Our 2017 Young Alumni of the Year, Milly Tapper, made history in 2016 when she became the first Australian to compete in both the Olympics and Paralympics. Diagnosed with Erb’s Palsy, which resulted from complications during her birth, Milly suffered significant nerve damage in her right shoulder and arm, which restricted development, movement and strength.
In spite of her disability, Milly has gone on to achieve amazing feats in the sporting world and has been named as the table tennis ambassador for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Milly is also a proud supporter of Standing Tall, a mentoring program for children and youth at risk of disengaging with education.
