Associate Professor Richard Dival OBE
Associate Professor Richard Divall OBE was awarded Australian Catholic University's (ACU National) highest honour, Doctor of the University (honoris causa) at the University's Melbourne Campus (St Patrick's) graduation ceremony at the Melbourne Town Hall on 28 April 2004.
ACU National Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Sheehan AO said the award recognises the outstanding service Professor Divall has given to the performing arts over a long and distinguished career, bringing music and opera to the community.
“Richard Divall is one of Australia's most eminent and distinguished conductors and musicologists, and is a generous contributor of expertise to ACU National,” said Professor Sheehan.
Professor Divall was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1981 for his service to music. In 2003 he was awarded a Centenary Medal for service to music and to the Australian community.
