About Us

The School of Social Work commenced with its first intake of students into the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program in Canberra in 1995. Since this time, the School has built a reputation for providing high quality and challenging programs. Its graduates are hard working and thoughtful practitioners committed to social justice principles. The School is very proud of its graduates and the contribution they are making to the human services sector.

2002 saw the commencement of two dual degree programs: the BA(ANU)/BSW program which we run with ANU and the BTheol/BSW program.  In 2004 we commenced the BSW on the Strathfield Campus (Mount Saint Mary) in Strathfield, Sydney and in 2006 were delighted to also welcome the BTheol/BSW students on the Strathfield Campus. Students in Sydney do the same Australian Association of Social Workers' program as students in Canberra. In 2007 we also commenced the BSW and the BTheol/BSW on the Brisbane Campus (McAuley at Banyo) and in 2008 we will begin the BA/BSW program.
