University offers a hand of hope for bushfire victims
The Australian Catholic University (ACU National) community has been shocked and saddened at the devastation wreaked by the Victorian bushfires over the past few weeks.
As hundreds of people gathered on Sunday 22 February for the National Day of Mourning, our thoughts and prayers were with those communities and families who have suffered such terrible losses of life and property.
ACU National offers support for all families who are grieving, those who are homeless and those who are offering practical assistance in the communities and fighting the fires. We will be thinking of those students affected by the fires as they return to the University over the next few weeks.
Please be aware that the University can offer students practical support through cash grants to replace clothing and equipment, counselling and support to resume their studies. If you hear of students, and indeed staff who could be assisted please refer them to the Mission Engagement staff on your campus in the list below.
The Graduation Office can also offer support to graduating students who have been affected by the fires. If you require assistance, please contact Nicky Alsemgeest on (02) 9701 4231.
