Baby care top choice
Midwifery graduate Narelle Haw enjoys helping women learn how to care for their babies.
Narelle Haw, from the small town of Boort in north central Victoria, attended many open days around Victoria and chose the Bachelor of Midwifery degree at ACU as her first preference.
“I liked the fact that it had smaller class sizes, modern facilities and friendly people,” Narelle said.
"Studying at ACU has helped me to learn about midwifery around the world and at home.
"A turning point in my midwifery training was travelling to Vanuatu as part of an elective subject, to help in two hospitals. It opened my eyes to see a whole other aspect of midwifery.”
Narelle, a Midwife at the Epworth Freemasons Hospital Maternity Unit, particularly enjoys antenatal education.
"I thoroughly enjoy helping women learn how to care for their baby and I also find teaching students and new midwives very rewarding."
